Kids had heaps of fun, Rachel got up on Saturday morning to chase the kangaroos lol
Saturday the wind picked up, and it was quite cold. but by Sunday the wind had gone and it was lovely!
wasn't much water there. we had a nice campfire, kids cooked marshmellows on the fire. we had Jaffles cooked in the fire for dinner on Sat night.
Was a good weekend, Kids had lots of fun, adults got along really well.

Melanie Gets a Gold Award

Melanie was awarded a Gold award at school.
It reads: "This award indicates that the student's effort and behaviour have been judged to be of a consistently very high standard, reflecting pride in self and school. "

So we are Proud as Punch of her.

Happy 13th Birthday to Melanie

My big girl is finally a teenager. she's been hanging out for this age for SO long.
She left for school this morning, and I came home and did a make over on her room. Painted a feature wall. Decorated with stencil painting, and hung the candle holder I got for her. it looks gr8 and she was in total shock when she got home.
it took me all day, 830 - 245 but its fantastic :D

A Sad Day...

May 26, 2010...
The day I lost my Father In Law.

Dad was diagnosed with a very aggressive strain of Myloma.
On May 26, he lost is battle with Cancer. it was a day I will never forget.

I had moved into my inlaws house (with Glenn & the kids) to help with Dad's Palliative care on Monday the 24th.. by that stage he wasn't getting out of bed for anything more than the loo..

he totally went down hill and then died at 1.07pm. a very quick passing. and Pain free.
The Funeral was held on Monday 31st a lovely service.

Mother's Day come early...

There you have it!! I have a dishwasher. And its running for the first time RIGHT now :D

We had to completely rearrange the kitchen for it to fit, and my clever hubby managed to get it installed. I'm in love!!!!!

Sabbath Afternoon at the Japanese Gardens...

We Spent the afternoon letting the kids run wild at the Japanese Gardens. We were hoping for a bit more autumn colour. But it was still lovely. David & Adele joined us too! The big girls were at pathfinder camp, so it was just the little ones :)

The Comedian Takes On Kokoda

Stand-Up Comedian and Qld Giggle Operator, Mark Gladman, is taking on the Kokoda Track along with CQ Camper, Cameron Brown, and a string of others in an attempt to raise $50,000 for Camp Quality.

In the process, Mark will also be writing a new book, "The Comedian Takes on Kokoda" proceeds from which will also be donated to Camp Quality. The book will look at the value of humour in the face of adversity with the Kokoda Campaign and the work of Camp Quality as the background.

I've been Scrapping!!!

Creative Memories scrap afternoon.. Met some lovely ladies. and got 6 pages finished. have so many photos to get done. these are all of our QLD trip in Jan 2000.

Building Again...

Time came.. kids needed more do occupy them in the back yard.
We headed up to Bunnings this morning.. and came out with a nice load of stuff..

in a couple of hours my very handy clever hubby had whipped together a swing set for the kids. Its only the beginning of the kids play equipment LOL

Butcher's Visit - April 11

My Good Friend Rosemarie, her hubby Andrew and kiddies, Damon, Kyal & Shaylee came out to visit us.. Kids played really well together. They totally LOVE playing with each other. We had a yummy lunch and headed off to Queen's park for a wonderful afternoon.. We did go up to picnic point, but the playground was pulled down :(

Decluttering

Preparing for a friends visit.. and a HOTSPOT raging outta control.. this is what I got done in a few mins!!

In the last few weeks...

Its been crazy busy.

March saw the last birthday for a couple of months.. My Darling Hubby is now 38.. a real "old" man LOL And end of school term, which also meant school photos. Nat's cast came off.. and that was funny.. her appt at the hospital to get if off fell on school photo day! So the night before Glenn & I got the snips and hacksaw and yep you guessed it.. cut it off.. YAY that eased the stress of the next day. Then the Thursday was last day of school for the term, and that afternoon we left for NSW Glenn's dad is unwell.. so it was a great time to spend time with the in-laws. Even David & Adele came down with Tegan & Liam. and Jeffrey had the boys so mum & dad had ALL the grand kids together for what could possibly be the last time with Poppy! :( Jarrod & Julie were Married on Easter Sunday and it was lovely.. even better was that we were KID FREE! Mel & Nat who were going to go to the wedding, stayed with mum & dad and it was lovely. The wedding was at Toowoon Bay, looking over the ocean. And the reception was then at Crowne Plaza Terrigal.



We had a BBQ dinner up at the fire, and spent the next day running around. Nat of course caught up with Eb her best friend. We got a photo of ALL the grand kids together, of course one had to be grumpy.. and Tuesday we headed off back home!! 10hrs it took. So we have had a busy time!!

She had a great day, opened pressies first thing, took a cake to school, came home and then Sizzler for dinner with Cousin's Tegan & Liam, Aunty Adele & Uncle David..

phone call's from Loved ones.. was a good day.

And she got a heap of pressies that she really wanted!!!

Doing what I would love to be doing..

Had to wake him up and Kaitlyn.. then he says, "mum you didn't have to wake me up" hehe oh yes I did :p even then it took 4 goes before he stopped hiding under the covers.

Mel's Art

Mel's first Art Assignment for the year.. came back with an A- woohoo
it also happens to be the highest mark of the class!

We got a keyboard for the kids at xmas time..

kids have loved having it. Mel's music skills have improved, and Kaitlyn can now play a few little songs.. its very cute!

Glenn however, was caught by me Saturday playing the keyboard. He learnt piano for many years as a kid, and never had a desire to learn.

He spent most of the day, thankfully with headphones on mucking around.. was rather embarrassed when caught LOL And when he had to ask Mel how to do things :)

What to do on a rainy day.....

Well today, was yet again another Rainy day!!

what to do this afternoon... something with PHOTOS!!!

Now my desk is getting organised I'm feeling the urge to scrap again. its been awhile!

So I sat down and organised some photos.. which lead to more photos.. and now I pulled all the photos out of my wooden chest and sorted out a heap of photos of Andrew & I growing up!!

that has been a huge job for me that I have been avoiding for too long. its mostly sorted.. still have to sort by year & date & subject but its all out of the original envelopes and the negatives are in their own mini power sort box..

Now I have to figure out what do to with my big pixi photos...

Finally getting somewhere...

I've had a couple of "lazy" days..
today I have finally gotten to achieve something..
Got Rachel & Ben's room tidy (with Ben's help) and vacuumed
Mel's room tidy (and vacuumed)
Hallway clear & vac'd
Took Ben up to get his Needles.. he cuddled into me, the nurse was fantastic and when the 2nd needle went in, he said "OW" Nothing else!! We called into the library where playgroup was being held.. then Headed to lunch with Mellissa & Josiah at maccas.
Then up to the school to get Nat and take her to the fracture clinic.. DR is happy with how her arm is going and will leave it another week before changing the cast. yay

Came home and vacuumed the loungeroom before off to get the kids from school..
Now home i haven't stopped either.. Mel's room is finished and tea is cooked (fried rice)
Little ones are bathed.. and I'm ready for BED!!!

Nat Breaks her wrist... Sat Feb 27

Nat's all excited, she's going blading at the skating rink for her friends birthday party..

I drop her off at 650.. head off to Mellissa's for a facial girly night.. I had not long been there when I checked my phone to reveal 2 missed calls, one from a mobile number, the other from home. I rang Glenn.. He tell's me Nat's stacked it at skating, and they think she's broken her arm. I returned the call to the mobile number and there's no answer.. I head off to the rink and the number called me again. Told them i was on my way..

Get there she is sobbing!! Her wrist looks deformed a little and she can't move anything with out screaming. so we head to the hospital. which happens to be on the way home anyway lol

from 8pm - 130 we were at the hospital.

We only waited just over an hour and we were called in... the dr ordered an xray and we waited for him to return with results.

yep the wrist is broken, she needs to be sedated to re-set the bones (or it was a general anesthetic) so we went ahead with that.

The sound of the bones grinding together was the hardest part as a parent.

We had to wait until the sedative wore off, she had another xray (confirming the position of the bones) and then we could go..

Today she is ok.. not too much pain. Just getting used to not using her RIGHT hand LOL

I'm in Love....

My Great friend Rachel introduced me to a site that lets you make your photos totally awesome! I now blame her for giving me another time consuming hobby LOL

Ben says....

God is going to SLURP us up to heaven, but he might get a tummy ache, so he will have to spit us out up there!

Ben has a preschool teacher, her name is Rona.. She has very black skin.. he was telling me that he didn't want to touch her black skin, but the white on the inside of her hand is ok.. We are in no way racist, this, he has come up with on his own (or from friends are preschool) so I am working on teaching him that there is no differece between colours. And God loves us all the same!!
its funny as I was only just saying to Mellissa today I wondered if their skin felt different, as it looks so shiny and smooth.. will it be like their hair being more coarse? Interesting indeed.

I was umming and ahhing as to what to do. and Now since I'm used to this I will continue!

2010 is the year for organisation!

today it started with arranging my desk in a useful manner.. before it was rather cluttered. And I hated what I saw every time I looked at it!!
